This picture began life as a brief 30 second sketch in a notebook where it remained for around 18 months before being photographed and worked within the Illustrator package where the outlines of the original sketch have been essentially preserved – see below. Looking at the work now, it conveys the impression of elements of extreme age and where the shapes could be characters in some long lost alphabet. The colour palate is reduced and subdued - as of suggesting that the shapes and their sequence are the key elements of the work.
