This is again derived from a brief sketch - where the element of the work is the pattern of shapes and colour and how they interact. With this technique of painting exposed elements on the canvas, the effort is largely related to careful masking of areas of the canvas where paint should not be applied. Some elements of conventional acrylic paint have also been added for the effect of increased contrast. In some ways this replicates the structures of stained glass. The eye tends to play tricks with the collection of shapes - where several shapes seem to join together transiently.
